Contact and Applying

To Apply

The Biotech Training Program strives to improve trainee preparation and access to STEM research careers by promoting trans-disciplinary thinking, providing enhanced mentoring, and creating project-based learning opportunities. To maximize training impact we connect trainees from a variety of demographic, scientific, and geographic backgrounds.

Traineeships

Each year we add about 10 new trainees that participate with Protein Biotechnology traineeships funded by NIGMS and WSU partners. To be considered for a traineeship, you must be admitted as a doctoral student in one of five WSU Ph.D. programs. Trainees are then nominated to the Biotech program by these partners.

Applicants seeking Protein Biotechnology participation with a traineeship are advised to explain their research and/or career interests in protein-related research and biotechnology in their applications to doctoral programs. Applicants should also alert the Biotech program coordinator of their interest.

Walk-on Participation

Graduate students from any WSU program may participate in monthly forum professional development meetings, annual symposia, and the Protein Biotechnology course (MPS/MBIOS/CHE 574, each fall). To initiate this participation, please reach out to the program coordinator.
